FOX Answers 'Calling' for Full Season Make that two low-rated series that FOX will stick with for a full season. The network has picked up seven additional episodes of "Tru Calling," less than the nine typically added to a freshman show's order but still enough to make a full season. That the series received any sort of extra order is something of a surprise, given its lackluster ratings."Tru Calling" is averaging about 4.1 million viewers a week and typically scores a rating of between 1.5 and 2.5 among adults 18-49, FOX's (and advertisers') favored demographic. Its performance is on par -- a little lower, actually -- than what the network did in the time period last fall with the likes of "30 Seconds to Fame."The fact that the series airs opposite two ratings giants, NBC's "Friends" and CBS' "Survivor: Pearl Islands," probably also bought it some extra ratings leeway. The show stars former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" regular Eliza Dushku as Tru Davies, a recent college graduate who works nights at the New York City morgue. She also hears voices of people in the morgue who died before they were supposed to, and when she does, she's sent back in time to prevent their deaths."Tru Calling" is the second marginally rated series FOX has picked up this week. The network also ordered additional episodes of the comedy "Arrested Development," which earned some of the season's best reviews; the same can't be said of "Tru."
